By accessing or using HamiltonEvents.ca (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Site.

Browsing events and submitting an event do not require an account. Organizer portal features require authorized access. Your use of the Site, including browsing, submitting events, or interacting with any content, constitutes your acceptance of these Terms.

HamiltonEvents.ca is operated by Supercompressor Inc. as an independent, locally focused project intended to increase awareness and participation in events across Hamilton and surrounding communities.

The Site exists to:

• Improve discoverability of local events through structured, search-optimised listings
• Support venues, organisers, and communities that may not have strong online visibility
• Help residents and visitors more easily find things to do
• Contribute to a more active, connected, and vibrant local culture

This project is created by people who care about Hamilton and want to make it easier for others to engage with what the city has to offer.

Nothing in this section creates any obligation, guarantee, or liability beyond what is expressly stated in these Terms.

The Site is an event aggregation and discovery platform that:

• Collects and displays events from publicly available sources and user submissions
• Provides event information for general informational purposes
• May offer optional promotional or featured placement services

Unless explicitly stated, Supercompressor Inc. does not organise, host, or operate the events listed on the Site.

While reasonable efforts are made to maintain accurate information:

• Event details may change without notice
• Listings may contain errors or omissions
• Availability, pricing, and scheduling are controlled by third parties

Users are responsible for confirming event details directly with the event organiser or venue.

Supercompressor Inc. makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the Site.

By submitting an event or other content to the Site, you:

• Is false, misleading, or deceptive
• Infringes intellectual property or privacy rights
• Is unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, or harmful
• Promotes illegal or unsafe activities

We may remove such content without notice and take further action where appropriate.

The Site may link to third-party websites or services, including ticketing platforms and venue pages.

Inclusion of an event on the Site does not constitute endorsement, approval, or recommendation by Supercompressor Inc.

All events are the responsibility of their respective organisers.

All content on the Site, excluding user-submitted content, including:

• Design
• Layout
• Branding
• Written content
• Data structure and presentation

is owned by or licensed to Supercompressor Inc. and is protected under applicable laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or exploit Site content without prior written permission.

We do not guarantee that the Site will be:

• Available at all times
• Free from errors or interruptions
• Secure or free from defects

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Supercompressor Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, profits, or opportunity, arising from:

• Your use of, or inability to use, the Site
• Event cancellations, inaccuracies, or changes
• Any third-party content, services, or transactions

Your use of the Site is at your own risk.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Supercompressor Inc., its directors, officers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Site
• Your submitted content
• Your violation of these Terms

A paid event promotion gives the selected event additional placement on HamiltonEvents.ca for the dates confirmed at purchase. Promoted placement may rotate between eligible events and may vary by page or device.

Promotion improves visibility but does not guarantee a minimum number of impressions, clicks, ticket sales, registrations, or attendees.

If an event is cancelled, postponed, sold out, or materially changed before its promotion ends, contact us promptly. We will review the undelivered portion and, where appropriate, reschedule it, provide equivalent placement, or refund the unused portion.

Promoted listings remain subject to our content standards. Payment for promotion does not transfer control of a listing or constitute endorsement by Supercompressor Inc.

When an authorized organizer activates HamiltonEvents.ca ticketing, that organizer is the seller of record for its tickets. Supercompressor Inc. provides the ticketing technology and may collect the HamiltonEvents.ca service fee shown before purchase. Stripe processes paid transactions and manages the connected organizer account.

The organizer is responsible for the event, the accuracy of ticket and event information, lawful venue capacity and admission practices, applicable taxes and registrations, customer support, refunds required by its policy or applicable law, and payment disputes or chargebacks connected to its sales.

Before placing an order, buyers are shown the ticket price, applicable organizer tax, HamiltonEvents.ca service fee, and total purchase price. Any ticket limits, eligibility conditions, refund terms, or admission restrictions shown during checkout form part of the purchase.

Each issued ticket includes a unique QR code. Buyers must protect their tickets from unauthorized copying or sharing. Admission may be refused when a ticket is invalid, refunded, cancelled, already checked in, or does not meet a disclosed admission condition.

Refunds are issued by or on behalf of the organizer according to the disclosed event policy and applicable law. Unless a refund is required by law or the checkout terms state otherwise, the HamiltonEvents.ca service fee may be non-refundable after a completed purchase. Cancelling or postponing an event does not remove an organizer's legal obligations to ticket buyers.

Organizers using Stripe Connect also agree to Stripe's applicable connected account terms. HamiltonEvents.ca may pause ticket sales or access where ownership, account verification, payment capability, security, legal compliance, or event delivery is reasonably in question.

Supercompressor Inc. may:

• Modify or discontinue features of the Site
• Introduce paid services, including promoted listings or advertising
• Update functionality without notice

These Terms may be updated from time to time.

Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Because we do not collect contact information from every visitor, we may not provide direct notice of changes.

Your continued use of the Site after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
