Wellwood's 28th annual Walk/Run/Wheel brings the community together at McMaster University to support free programs and services for people affected by cancer.
Registration and kit pickup run from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. The free kids' 1K begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the youth and adult 5K at 10:00 a.m. Awards begin at 11:00 a.m., and the course closes 90 minutes after the 5K start.
Wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walkers and strollers are welcome. Bicycles, rollerblades and pets are not permitted on the course. Complimentary event parking is available, though the closest campus lots are expected to fill early.
The kids' 1K is free. Early-bird 5K registration through September 18 is $15 for youth and $20 for adults; current pricing and registration are available through Race Roster.
