Entrepreneurship can look polished from the outside, which makes it hard to know what actually matters when you’re building a business with limited money, time, and resources. Founders constantly wonder when to scale, where to spend, what to prioritize, and whether everyone else has actually figured it out or is just as scrappy behind the scenes. This session on how to scale a small business is a candid, practical look at what it really takes, with inspiring reference to how Beck’s Broth scaled to $1M through smart, actionable choices.
Come behind the scenes of how Beck’s Broth went from farmers’ markets and hand-packed orders to a $1M+ business. Domenique will share the scrappy decisions, mistakes, growth strategies, and slightly embarrassing stories that got them there, alongside practical lessons on product-market fit, increasing revenue, decreasing costs, building community, and telling a story people actually want to follow. You’ll learn the real story of how Beck’s Broth scaled to $1M and how those lessons can apply to your business.
What you’ll learn
Join Domenique and walk away with:

Practical ways to increase revenue and decrease costs without needing a giant budget
A better understanding of how to use grants, loans, and other funding to support growth
Ideas for building a brand people genuinely want to talk about

A much more realistic picture of what “success” actually looks like behind the scenes
Why it matters for startups and entrepreneurs
Most advice on how to scale a small business skips the messy middle: the stretch between a good idea and a business that actually works. Domenique’s story fills in that gap. From hand-packing orders to building a $1M+ CPG brand, she’s navigated the exact tradeoffs founders face every day, when to spend, when to hold back, and how to keep moving without a big budget or a perfect plan. Indeed, if you’ve ever wondered how Beck’s Broth scaled to $1M in a crowded market, this session gives you the inside scoop. Founders who attend will walk away with a more grounded, realistic sense of what growth actually requires, and permission to stop comparing their behind-the-scenes to everyone else’s highlight reel.
Who should attend
This session is for founders, entrepreneurs, and aspiring business owners who are building something from the ground up and want a practical, honest look at what it actually takes to turn an early idea into a growing business. In other words, if you want to understand how Beck’s Broth scaled to $1M and how you might follow a similar blueprint, this is for you.
