The Performance
Tchaikovsky put Russia on the map for music but he was truly international in the way he lived his life, the languages he spoke, and most of all, in his music itself. His Souvenir de Florence takes its title due to a main theme that was sketched while on travels in Florence. Join us to learn how and why Tchaikovsky became such an international musician at a time where Russian music was just getting started and European influence was often seen as detrimental.
