Shimmy & Shred – Heavy Metal Hips Fusion

CoLodge Hamilton

• 288 James Street North

About

Part of the Dance Fusion Workshop Series with Tammy The Brown.

This workshop blends the foundations of belly dance with the power and energy of metal music.

Dancers will learn transferable belly dance techniques that can be applied across different styles of performance while exploring rhythm, musicality, and movement.

Together, you'll learn a short choreography to Korn's "Freak on a Leash" so you can slam into the beat, play with dramatic moments, and command the floor. This class focuses on confidence, awareness, and body positivity.

Whether you're new to dance or an experienced mover, this workshop offers a fun space to connect with your body, sweat, and learn new skills.

Doors open at 6:05 pm for a 6:15 pm start.

What to bring: comfortable, stretchy clothing that is not too baggy.

Knee protection such as knee pads, a mat, or a towel is not required, but definitely recommended.

Bring water.
