About

Presented by Noisemaker

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Royal Wood has established himself as a true musical talent. Since being proclaimed “Songwriter of the Year” by iTunes, Wood has continued to evolve and hone his musical craft while maintaining a unique identity. His eighth full-length studio album, 2022’s What Tomorrow Brings, was up “For Your Consideration” for BEST FOLK ALBUM at the 2024 Grammys. With that album, Wood reached new emotional depths and delivered his most powerful collection of music to date. Crafted alongside world-renowned writer/producers Linda Perry (Adele, Alicia Keys) and Jamie Scott (Ed Sheeran, Michael Kiwanuka), the album drew from deeply personal points in Wood’s life, effectively capturing the emotion of those moments. Now Royal has set his sights even higher by teaming up with 5-time Grammy winning mixer and producer Ryan Freeland (Bonnie Raitt, Ray LaMontagne, Rolling Stones). This new album is set to be released in 2025 and includes Grammy winning musicians Ash Soan on drums and Hutch Hutchinson on bass.

Fortunate Ones is a contemporary folk duo from Newfoundland. Celebrated for their harmony-entwined songs of hope, resilience, and the human condition and their joyfully disarming live shows, they have toured relentlessly, bringing their open-hearted performances to thousands of people across North America and beyond. Catherine and Andrew have been busy since the release of their debut album The Bliss in 2015 – thousands of miles, hundreds of shows, award winning albums and scores of fans have all been hallmarks of the success the duo has experienced since their humble beginnings in St. John’s. The Bliss was nominated for a Juno Award and landed two #1 singles on CBC Radio 2’s Top 20.
