Open Streets Hamilton - September 2026 is a free City of Hamilton street activation that opens King Street East to people walking, biking, cycling, rolling and playing for the day.
On Sunday, September 27, King Street East is closed to vehicle traffic from John Street to Gage Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The temporary car-free route includes community activations, physical activity stations, live entertainment, local businesses and community organizations along the corridor.
Open Streets is a community street event, not a festival. Community organizations and eligible local businesses can register activations through the City of Hamilton. There is no vendor fee; external vending is restricted, and businesses along the King Street closure, Downtown BIA and International Village BIA have specific participation rules through the City registration process.
