This New Year, the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra presents a Mendelssohn & Schumann , featuring music by Mendelssohn, Beethoven, and Schumann with pianist Marc-André Hamelin.

The performance starts with shimmering delight as Felix Mendelssohn’s Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream transports us to an enchanted world through dreamy soundscapes. A masterclass in musical storytelling, Mendelssohn’s iconic work captures Shakespeare’s magical forest in all its playful mischief and lyrical beauty. Then, Canadian virtuoso Marc-André Hamelin takes the stage as soloist on Beethoven’s sparkling second Piano Concerto.
