    About this event

    Concert

The evening begins with a gallery art show at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. A live auction is also part of this Carnegie Gallery fundraiser. The concert ends at 11 p.m.

This year, the Carnegie Gallery is hosting a fundraising concert for their beloved home on October 9th at The Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre and they would love for you to be a part of this event. It is Thanksgiving weekend and in the spirit of bringing family together, the theme for the evening will be COMING HOME.

As the Carnegie Gallery, located in the heart of Downtown Dundas, their mandate has always been to promote and support local artists. This year, we have enlisted the help of two of our most brilliant hometown stars: Tom Wilson and Terra Lightfoot. They will bring an immensely rich and dynamic evening of entertainment and storytelling.

To help them continue their legacy of bringing local fine art and craft to the community, your purchase of a ticket will go directly towards repairing the roof of their 116 year old building.

Tom Wilson is a Canadian music legend, famed storyteller and visual artist. Wilson’s memoir, Beautiful Scars published by Penguin/Random House has become a national bestseller. In his memoir, Wilson reveals the impact of discovering his indigenous heritage. Musically, Wilson is best known for his work with Blackie & The Rodeo Kings and Lee Harvey Osmond, the latter receiving a 2020 Juno Award for the album "Mohawk.

Terra Lightfoot is a Juno- and Polaris-nominated guitarist-singer-songwriter from Hamilton, Ontario. In 2020, she marked her first decade as a recording artist with Consider the Speed, recorded by Grammy-winning producer Jay Newland at Memphis' legendary Royal Studios. In early 2022, Lightfoot launched her own label, Midnight Choir, with single “Sleepyhead.” Sixth album Healing Power (released Oct 13, 2023) reunites her with producer/engineer Gus van Go for a career-best outing, one that earned the artist a second long-list nomination for the Polaris Music Prize.

Peller Hall is fully accessible, with parking behind Memorial and in nearby lots, and bar service on site. Doors open at 6:00 PM, the show starts at 7:30 PM and ends at 11:00 PM. Tickets are available exclusively through our box office, online or at 905-304-3232.
