Join us for a two-part outdoor adventure!
We’ll kick things off with a guided bird walk through Bayfront Park, led by Rob Porter. As part of the iNat Together campaign, we’ll explore the often-overlooked species that help support our local bird populations. We’ll take a closer look at the interconnected relationships between birds and the trees, plants, insects, and other organisms they depend on for food, shelter, and habitat.
The event will also include a hands-on introduction to iNaturalist. Learn how to upload photos taken with your camera, add them to iNaturalist, and use the platform to help identify and document the species you encounter. Whether you’re new to iNaturalist or already an avid user, you’ll have an opportunity to build your skills and contribute to community science.
As dusk settles in and the birds tuck in for the night, the fun doesn’t stop—look up! Our evening continues with a sky-gazing experience hosted by the Hamilton Amateur Astronomers. Discover fascinating celestial sights and learn how to identify key features of the night sky. The Full Moon and Saturn will be special highlights of the evening.
Come explore the natural world from the ground to the sky—and experience Bayfront Park in a whole new way!
