DVSA’s Artist Talk series is free and open to the general public, providing an excellent opportunity to hear from the artists themselves as they share information on their careers, process, life experiences and the work they produce.
Join us for this special session with Hamilton musician and artist, Christina Sealey as she explores her stylistic shifts and the influence of earlier work on her new series.
Holding an MFA in Drawing and Painting from the Edinburgh College of Art and a BA (Hons.) from McMaster University, Christina has exhibited in galleries and art centres throughout Canada and the UK. Her work is represented in numerous collections including The Art Gallery of Hamilton, The Frederick Horseman Varley Gallery, The Hamilton Club, Standard Life Scotland and the private collection of Margaret Trudeau.
She has been awarded grants for her painting from both the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts and from private foundations including the Pollock-Krasner and Elizabeth Greenshields Foundations. Christina has taught painting and drawing at Sheridan College, Brock University, OCAD University and McMaster University.
