The 19th Annual BRIGHT Run is a non-competitive, family-friendly 1 km or 5 km walk or run supporting breast cancer research at Juravinski Cancer Centre and McMaster University. The volunteer-powered fundraiser welcomed 1,700 participants and 200 volunteers in 2025 and has raised more than $6.5 million for local research since 2008.
Registration and check-in open at 9 AM, along with the silent auction, Pink Gear, Penny Sale, raffle and Kids Zone. Opening ceremonies begin at 10 AM, followed by the ribbon cutting and route start at 10:30 AM. The walk and run end at 11:30 AM, with closing ceremonies, the cheque presentation, top-fundraiser announcements and the silent-auction close at noon.
Participant registration is $35 for adults through September 11, $40 for adults on event day and $10 for youth 16 and under. There is no fundraising minimum. Registration includes an event T-shirt and medal and helps cover event expenses.
Medical mobility devices are permitted. Reserved parking is available for Ontario disability-permit holders, and golf carts will help visitors travel from the main parking area. Event parking is free. There is no direct HSR service to the entrance; Routes 5 and 52 reach downtown Dundas, where a taxi or rideshare is needed for the final trip. The event runs rain or shine, and leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome.
