Summer on King William Street turns the downtown restaurant row between James Street North and Hughson Street North into a pedestrian-only summer hub from July 15 to September 13, 2026. The City of Hamilton and Downtown Hamilton BIA are adding public seating, free outdoor programming, restaurant patios, and weekly activations along the block.
The road closure begins July 13 at 7 a.m. and runs until September 14 at 6 p.m. Programming is outdoors and may change with inclement weather, with updates expected from @publicarthamilton and @dwntwnhambia.
Weekly highlights include Wednesdays with the HPO, Thursday Tunes, Friday Unwinds, and Saturday Pop-Up Markets, alongside King William restaurants and nearby local businesses.
