This August, the Westdale takes you back to the lazy, crazy and hazy days of 1986, with four of that summer’s greatest movies! Whether you’re just looking for a day off, a strange and hilarious trip into a mystical underworld, an awe-inspiring journey of a fantastical realm, or even a hike through the nostalgia of youth, our ‘Summer of ’86’ series is perfect for those who saw them in their original release, and even better for those who never got to experience these classics in a theatre!
Each film in the series screens twice on Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings – click here to see all the films and showtimes!
40th Anniversary!
In a treehouse at the edge of Castle Rock, a small Oregon town, budding 12-year-old writer Gordie is about to begin an extraordinary trek into the heart of the northwestern forest. His best friend Vern has overheard his older brother and a friend talking about their discovery of a dead body in the woods. Hoping they can get credit for finding the body, Gordie sets off with insecure, frightened Vern, tough guy Chris and daredevil Teddy on an adventure that becomes an odyssey of self-discovery.
