About

The first of three HYBRID dance workshops, taught and hosted by Hamilton's own sword balancing drag queen Tammy The Brown.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to harness the confidence of a drag performer and the techniques of a belly dancer. Whether you're a novice or a pro, everyone is sure to gain something.

In this workshop, you'll explore key techniques that bring performance to life, from eye contact and using the space you're given to connecting with and captivating an audience.

You'll learn things like the art of the pause, dealing with a live audience, body awareness, and more.

We'll also dive into using music to enhance your presence, practice transferable techniques that work with any style, and then put everything together in a short belly dance fusion choreography that brings all the skills together.

Whether you're performing on stage or looking to gain confidence in front of the mirror, this class will help you move with intention and ease.

For all skill levels.

Doors open at 6:05 pm for a 6:15 pm start.

Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that is not too baggy.

Please bring knee protection such as knee pads, a mat, or a towel, along with water. Heels are optional.
