‘Lambs in Winter’ – A Comedy about Old People Behaving Badly
Classical Theatre Company is pleased to announce our latest play, Lambs in Winter, being presented at the Staircase Theatre in Hamilton, September 18 – 20, 2026. ‘Lambs in Winter’ is a dramatic comedy for adults of all ages.
Set in Hamilton in 2008, this is the story of a recently retired couple and their best friend who discover that getting older doesn’t mean growing up. Former 60’s student activists, they had settled into their comfortable middle-class lives, that is, until they were confronted with the global recession of 2008.
Their lives get turned upside-down as secrets come out that force them to reassess all that they once held true and dear and the relationships they had taken for granted. It’s a fun comedy about friendship, lost ideals, and a whole lot of mistakes – and set in the real world financial crisis of the time.
Featuring local actors Ilene Elkaim, Julian Nicholson, Mariia Zaichenko and Naseem Abdulahad, the play is written and directed by local playwright, Ray Rivers, who also acts in it.
