About

Step into local military history at Battery Lodge, now home to The Hamilton Military Museum. Originally a guard house during the 1837 Rebellion, this building is rich with stories. Don’t miss Lawyers and Land Pirates , which recreates the guard room used by MacNab’s militia and explores the Rebellion’s causes and aftermath. While at the museum, also check out Blood Ties to a Gentle Landscape , showcasing Dundurn Park’s 1812 history and learn about the Hamilton & Scourge wrecks. Experience life as a soldier in our Discovery Gallery where you can also test your musical skills on one of our accordions or drums, in celebration of Hamilton, City of Music !
